because if its a two stroke engine that's the only way the internal part of the engine has to get any oil at all,that's what oils the whole engine,without mixing it ,you would burn it up in less than a few minutes of running it on plain gas,you have to admit though that when their running right they cant be beat ,but you have to keep the rpm,s built up on them,good luck,and happy thanksgiving.

Engines that need oil mixed with the gas isn't like a car engine. It doesn't have oil in it to lubricate the parts. So oil is added to the gas to keep the piston chamber lubricated. If the piston chamber is not lubricated, the engine will lock up and will be ruined. These engines are usually small 2 stroke engines like scooters and weedeaters.

Because I have a giant big bucket and a scooter ---and 3 barrels of oil look well together with a shiny red scooter when shaken or stirred properly.

You must be on a 2 stroke . the oil is to lubricate the rings of the piston. in a 2 stroke there is no oil pump and the crank case carries oil for the crank shaft only. remember to always mix your fuel if not the piston will seize.
