Some details for you: 30 gallon tank, 2 female guppies, 2 males guppies, 6 glass bloodfin tetras, 1 blue gourami, 1 small catfish, 1 little aquarium frog.

I'm almost positive i bought my one female guppy pregnant. If not; she's pregnant now! Haha, I had guppies before. And acutally one had babies before too. There was about 15 of them and they all died within two months.

I have one of these: http://www.petco.com/Assets/product_images/1%5C1083810255B.jpg

that the mother will go in once I'm sure she's going to have the drop within the next couple of days. Once she has all the babies, should I immediatlly put them in the ten gallon tank?

What should the ten gallon tank contain? Should i put snails in there? I plan on using fake plants.

thank you :)

Instead of putting the female into the breeder, i would put her straight into your 10 gallon, which should be planted with breeding grass or similar

She can have the babies there without beeing stressed, and you can then just take her out once she has had the babies

Hope that helps
Good luck

I would put the babies in a differnent tank, because males tend to eat the babies. We have babies in ours. Mom just keeps them full by feeding them alot so they won't eat the babies.. But don't feed them alot because it will kill the fish. So just put the babies in another tank. Make sure the waters warm. Fake or real plant is fine, just make sure its not toxic.

Also, make sure you have a pump that isn't too powerful, if it is, turn it on low, the current is too much on the babies, and also they get sucked up in there. becareful. But its fine, when you buy a guppie they are almost always prego. ;) So ur cool.

the ten gallon tank should contain vegetation or real plants for baby guppies to eat......anyway CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnant female!!!! hehehe......just do your best to make them survive!
and yeah you should put them immediately in your ten gallon tank...=)....so that they will not get eaten by the other fish
just be sure that you have adjusted the temparature of the 10 gallon tank...
if you have any questions feel free to email me!

here is an excellent site....i learned everything in this site.....and i was able to produce 100+ guppies in just a single female!

You should put all the babies in the tank gallons quickly as possible.
For me I put sponge filter ,because this filter wont suck the babies.

You can put fake plants but live plants is better such as java moss:

This plant give cover and also food for the babies. The babies will love them.
I dont think you need to put snails in there because they will
breed, breed and breed(they will overcrowd your tank).
Furthermore ,if the snails die, they will pollute the tank.

Get a floating hatchery my dad had 1 put the mother fish init and when she drops the babies will be safe from any other fish. Once the mother is ready to leave them let her out off the hatchery nd the babies can grow in it untill they are ready to be released.

Check out the link below to see pictures of what they look like and prices.

k first of all seperate it in a different tank. i strongly suggest it because thats how my guppy fries died every time. feed it crumbled up fish falkes, boiled yolk, and put a plant in with teh fry. On the plant are microscopic bacteria and such that ur fry will eat. good luck
