A 1964 quarter contains .18 ounces of silver. With silver at $14.30 an ounce, that's about $2.57 worth of silver.
The date is very common. Mint mark and condition don't make a great deal of difference.

If it's from a collectible mint or year then it could be a lot....check online or library have books on collectible coins...otherwise....check online to see how many troy ounces a quarter weighs then see how much silver is going for per ounce today.....it's at least worth it's weight in silver if its solid silver coin.

Like all collectibles, it is worth exactly what someone will pay you for it.

I recommend you search eBay for identical items and maybe watch a few of the auctions to establish a record of the recent historical values there.

We really cannot answer for sure because we don't know the condition of your coin, and that does matter.

BTW - the little D or whatever will indicate where it was minted and does have some impact on the value of some coins.

Check to see if it has a small capital letter on it (I think on the lower left side) that will tell you what mint and help tell how much it's worth in books or online.
