my live in girlfriend will not leave my house although we are incompatible and I have told her several times to leave. she says she will not leave and will use anything of mine she wants any time she wants to. I think she is a sociopath and could be destructive or worse . what should be my first course of action??

When she's not home, put her stuff into storage and pay for it for a month and then change the locks. If she's paying rent, however, you may have to go through an eviction process which would require filing through the court and then waiting for it to go through (could be months).

Turn off all the utilities. Have a friend pretend to stock the place at night frequently, that you can never seem to catch. Invite a satanist over a couple times a week and freak her out with conversation. Remove the toilet. Go buy a bunch of rats and let em loose! Good luck pal. If none of that works, put all of her stuff outside and change the locks, but remember to record on film her reaction. I like what one of the guys said about going to the authorities and filing a report. Then you wouldn't have to play all the stuff I've listed here. Though it would make a great movie, especially if she ran off with the satanist.

Depends on where you live....If her name is on the lease, you can't just kick her out...State laws differ on what is an acceptable time for someone to be booted out. If you are renting, and her name isn't on the lease, file a complaint with the sheriff's dept. and an eviction notice or go through the landlord to have her evicted. A cousin of mine had to go through 30 days of hell just to get rid of a terrible roomate...If you own the house, still file a complaint with the sheriff's dept. and see if you can get her out that day...And get a restraining order...

It is hard to answer this question without knowing all the facts. Like do you own the place, are you on a lease ? is she?
If it is so bad and financial and legal matters make it impossible for you to get her out. Get out yourself and leave her to it. If this is not possible, seek legal advice.

Why don't you leave? Find a new apartment, pack your things, end your lease, and move. Is she going to move in with you to the new place?
