Whatever you do, don't get a Dell. If the poor technology won't get you, the customer service will. They aren't helpful whatsoever; you wait an hour on the phone and then they tell you to check things that have either nothing to do with the problem or things even an idiot would have the knowledge to do.
I'd say to go with a Sony or customize your own. No idea why you would spend so much money on a laptop though...don't even think they come priced that high, unless you get the ones that have a TB in the hard drive.

Neither... Go Dell, the little more money you pay up front will surely pay off in the long run. I have had a Dell 5150 since may of 2004, the only thing that went wrong with it was the LCD burnt out, was shipped out, replaced and shipped back in three days for under $100. I still have it today and honestly it is still better then my new computer i just bought.. Dell's are expensive for a reason, they last! Lol Hope this helps? lol

I think you put an extra zero on there, plus you dont really say what your going to do with it, Home use means to me email,
word doc's maybe a game here or there. I use an 3yr old Acer aspire 9500
bought it used for 300.00 upgraded to 2gigs of ram for 100.00 works great, they have new ones that are better then mine for 800-1200 that would work out good for you I have had no problems at all with it

WOW, thats alot for a laptop. I do not know of any laptops of that price. But if you really want to pay that much, stand outside at night, find a UFO and get the aliens to suck you into the UFO and then buy one of there high tech laptop computer.
