I have known this girl for over 16 years. We went to school together when we were young and hung out a little through high school. I dont really see her or talk to her very often now. She has been getting married for the past 2 years...setting dates not going through with it. Well she asked me this time to be in her wedding and I said sure. So it was supposed to be in May. After commiting to that date I commited to going to Mexico in June. Well all of a sudden she changed the date again to June...the same week I will be gone. She seems pissed about it and said I knew that it was in June for the past year! Thats a lie because she sent me an email stating it was May and my other friend who is in the wedding said it was May also. So my point to this story is...should I feel bad about it? Should I cancel my trip? What should I do?

I am actually going on a Missions trip to an orphanage....so not a vacation but something really important to me.

I think your friend is insecure and should actually not be getting married. Clearly shes too immature and by trying to manipulate and control people in the process is really insensitive of her. You considered her, but she is not considering anybody but herself and personally I think shes likely to move the date again to the -point that no one will attend the wedding in the end. She will only have herself to blame.
I would say you have to use tough love. Go on holiday and if she gets married then tough. WHy should you revolve your life around a person who doesnt consider the lives of other people? Perhaps its time she has to learn what its like to inconvenience the world because she cant make up her mind.
Clearly it might be time to move on and make new friends. You really dont need people like this in your life! OR you need to confront her and tell her you have made plans around her all this time and now its got to stop and you are sorry but you are not going to be there - you need your holiday! If she doesnt appreciate that clearly shes not worthy of you as a friend.

It matters on a couple of things do you take vacations alot or is this vacation something that youve been looking forward to preety much your whole life ......do you get were I'm going with this .If this is the only vacation you can take ,take it ,but if it isn't your friend's been looking forword to this her whole life

Do not feel bad and do not change your plans...With her pattern the wedding could change to Sept or some other month...You dont live your life for her and on her time, you live it for you...Now go enjoy yourself, have a blast on vacation...
