I got my ACT scores back and I did fairly well, but not in the science section.
My scores were as follows: Science: 22, Math: 26, English: 33, Reading: 33, Composite: 29.
I am going to a good college and I was planning on majoring in a science and then going to dentistry school. Is my score in the science section indicative of my ability to do well in college science courses or on the dental admission test (DAT)?

it all depends on how hard you are willing to work to get into dentistry. my best friend did worse than you on the ACT, and terribly in high school science, but in college he put in 8+ hours/day studying. he had no social life, but after 2 years he had a 4.0 in dentistry pre requisite courses and got into dental school 2 years early.

honestly, all it takes is hard work. your score are indicative of the ability, but you will have to work really hard to make it happen. if you commit, then you can do it. i've seen it firsthand.

as for the DAT, it's not too hard. a lot of spatial reasoning and dexterity. take a prep course and you'll do fine.

If you work hard you can still make it as a great dentist. If you are unsure of your ability to get through Dental School you can always train to be a dental hygienist. Its a great career and is a good alternative to becoming a dentist. Good Luck.

If you really want it, you'll do it....Face adversity, take it on like a man and you'll make it. Become the Rocky" of the Dentites.
