Tennis is a sprt, and table tennis is the same as tennis but smaller. So would it be considered a sport or just a game? And it's not even like fusball where you just twist the handles, you actually get into it and everything haha.

I'm semi-pro, and play in local tournaments. There is a bigger following of the sport than you think. Check out http://www.usatt.org/ .

Anyone who doesn’t consider it a sport does not play it right... Normal players hit at over 100 mph... My friend who IS a pro, practices almost 6 hours a day 6 days a week. It is a very dynamic sport. As in any sport It requires a lot of thinking... just at a much quicker pace.

It is very popular in other countries and it is on the rise (once again) here.

(p.s. Donic ftw!!!)

Table tennis is a real sport and there are many reasons some sports are not popular in the U.S. or other countries. Table tennis is not the only sport that is not followed in the U.S., soccer is the most popular sport in the world and does not have a relatively large following here. Your thought about ignorance of a sport is probably true. Ignorance is not being stupid, but lacking knowledge, so most people in the U.S. do not watch or participate outside their garage in table tennis. There are many sports that do not have a large audience and it is difficult to gain more people with the most attention focused on football and basketball, not to mention baseball.

It's been in the Olympics since 1988, and it's hard to imagine a non-sport in the Olympics.
