In general Yes.

It is because sadness has negative energy and when it is shared to others by touch, companionship, togetherness, it spreads.

That is the reason why elders tell us that when we have a sad incident happened at our home,. we should not go and join parties and functions for at least for one year.

The reason is when we are seen, the visitor tries to ask as what happened and we narrate all details of sadness, like death of a person, how happened and all.
Then the visitor also gets sad in sympathy to us. This is not to be done in a function, where they all like to be happy and joyful.

Such people r pessimists and I avoid them. I've no sympathy for them. Rather I ask them to keep away from me. Such people r burden on society. Because they have laid down arm and expect others to fight for them. Sad for what that U have no job or there is none to help u. First learn to help yourself and then only look to others for token help. That much is admissible. A sad man doesn't make me sad, but if really there is a genuine problem, I do help. There is a difference between looking sad and being sorrowful. If a person is sorrowful because his son is seriously ill. Well ! I'm too sorrowful for him. I'm a human, I'm sorrowful for other people's sorrow. To be sorrowful for some unavoidable reason is different than looking sad all the time and attempting to get sympathy. I treat these people as parasites who always try to take advantage of u. There r many around me and they come to me with a sad face, always with some problem and expect me to help them with money. All of them look sad. Many a time they fake it. Such people don't have a will to work and get money too.

Yes, if they've good reason to be sad people in the first place. Otherwise they remind me of someone I used to know who was what I can only term a 'pity-whore' and would go to great lengths to make others feel sorry for them when in reality they were quite alright (physically at least; mentally they were obviously NOT alright).

It doesn't really make me sad, it just makes me wonder, and makes me sympathetic. If they are sad I just try to cheer them up and asks what's wrong. Sad people need a happy person to cheer them up, not a sad person making them more sad :)

Yeah, if you're any kind of a human spirit you unconsciously mimic the emotions of those around . That how evil politics rule the world, they get in everyone's face and continually spread the big lie until you believe it.
