I've never seen Rock Band played so I like Guitar Hero more. And also Rock Band copied Guitar Hero except for the drums and the microphone. Unless they were made by the same person which I don't know if they were...

Guitar Hero 1 and 2 were created by Harmonix and Red Octane. They split. Red Octane got to keep the Guitar Hero name, so Harmonix created Rock Band. Personally, I'd really like to pick up Rock Band. I'm a guitarist and the idea of learning the drums appeals to me.

rock band
they're both made by the same company. thats why guitar hero 3 was the last. and now they're working with rock band. rock band is like guitar hero, just a different look and the capability of drums, bass and a singer. its a freakin band what more can ya want?

They both have good and bad points, like guitar hero has had more time to develop and gain a following while rock band (though I haven't played) also looks as though it could be good because of the variety its gives, like drums, vocals etc etc which is good for those that liked guitar hero but aren't so into guitars.
It just depends on who you are I guess.

Well, Guitar Hero is better than Rock Band, because Guitar Hero is partially based on "Dance, Dance Revolution"---of course, the scrolling action.

One thing that many people misunderstand about these games is that they are not intended to teach people how to play guitar. They are simply games. My daughter, who is an avid player of Guitar Hero and also wants Rock Band, says that one benefit to these games is that they teach people a sense of how to keep time in a band. This is someone who actually can play guitar so she knows about music.

Rock Band looks more interesting, but I doubt it'll be any fun without many players. And both songlists are solid at best. Not great really...
