Just anything about alliances, it doesnt have to be ones they made themselves. It could be how the french-russian affected their decision.. Also any addition information about why turkey/ottoman empire joins WWI would be appreciated also. (Nationalism??)

The Ottoman Empire was almost surrounded by two great Empires (Russia and Britain) and sought an alliance with the Central Powers of Germany and Austria/Hungary as a means of balancing this possible threat.
Germany wanteda safe access to world markets in the event of war with Britain and tried to promote the idea of a trans Europe rail system through Turkey and the Ottoman Empire to Yemen which would have been safe from the all powerful British Navy.
