Gold glitters--right now the dollar does not. The dollar will come back, but right now, if I had $$$ to invest and only those two choices I would pick GOLD, even at price of over $ 800 per ounce.

In what sense? Stability? Future worth? Availability? Longevity? Whether or not they actually exist?

I can see the general question you're trying to ask, but there are a lot of different ways to risk-assess competing forms of currency.
