there has been a lot of fuss lately on how to get free music (I-tunes is noble in all its legalness but quite frankly, its only for those with more money than sense; 100 songs= $99, not even if i were a millionare, dude) and i just wanted to know if this would work, hypothetically speaking of course.

Most stores won't let you return an opened CD (or DVD or game) for a refund or a credit. They will usually let you exchange it for the exact same CD for cases where the item was damaged.

You don't need any special software at all. Just copy the MP3 files onto the CD using your normal software - even Windows XP supports this if you have nothing else. Copy the MP3s over, put the CD into your car stereo and they should simply play. Most car stereos are happy if you create lots of folders, each with music by a different artist (or from a different CD). Give it a try - it's easy! :)

First of all is wrong. And stores don't accept returns of CD's, unless you have a mayor problem with the CD. I do agree with you that 99 cents a song is expensive. Is better and cheaper to buy the CD, instead

Hypothetically speaking my hypothetical millionaire friend, no. It will not work because majority of cd's bought and sold through music stores have encryption codes and have anti-piracy software embedded into it so copying it is a federal offense.

Well, I can see Santa not coming to your house this year. LOL!
I buy the CD's and keep them. May as well use my CD player on the Stereo.

it doesn't work. most stores only give refunds if the cd is unopened. if it is open then you may only be able to exchange and some stores don't even do that

ummmm, because you only can exchange it for the same product. no sane store is going to give you your money back for an opened cd or dvd.
