I am wondering if anyone has a LOT of experience in keeping ghost shrimp in an aquarium. They are breeding, well fed and disease free. I am unable to find much accurate information on them that is specific. I understand that their life span is only about 2 years max. How can you tell when a ghost shrimp is old? I have a couple of shrimp that have turned opaque (you can no longer "see" through them, hence they are no longer ghost-like), and yet they are not molting. They are not sick, continue to roam the tank and eat well, and also interact with the other shrimp. I am wondering if this is a sign that they are close to the end of their life cycle. These shrimp are also quite large and therefore fully grown. Serious people only please with experience in this field.

How long have they gone without molting? If it has been more than a month, this is permanent, and almost certainly a sign of aging, but not necessarily illness or a sign of death... Let them go, sit back, and enjoy the immense pleasure they bring... if they are breeding and acting normal, there is absolutely nothing wrong...
