There is absolutely no correlation of any kind b/w the concepts...the fibonacci series is a rather arbitrarily posited series which, as you probabaly know runs : 1,2,3,5,8,13,...to infinity.
Pi goes to infinity too, but the relationship b/w the integers is unlike that of the integers comprising fibonacci.
You can employ pi in the equations in chaos theory but that is the extent of the relationship.
Its one of those urban myth conspiracy things is my bet..
