She eats, seemingly alot more now, with not alot of spitup, poops ok, about twice a day, we're giving her gas drops, but she won't stop crying. She seems tired but won't sleep. She's not spoiled by being held because she is still fussy being held. She likes to be held vertical, not horizontal, and laid on her belly, sometimes, because other times she still cries. Car rides put her to sleep, but the second the car stops, she wakes up again. Also her swing and bouncy seat are not pleasing her. Can anyone help on this topic?!

I think you should go to the baby nurse or doctor and let them know the symptoms you have told us here, as it may many reasons for this such as colic, not feeding enough, if bottle fed it may be the wrong teat (As they have many different flows), wrong formula type. But you do want to rule out anything too serious. Either way you want to be able to enjoy your baby!!

She likes to lay on her belly which could mean she has wind and laying on her belly eases the pain a bit. Do you burp her long enough after a feed? Is she gaining weight? Do you breast feed or bottle feed? (As you may not be producing enough milk, or the formula is too rich)

With my daughter I use to hold her on her belly over my arm. (She loved it). I also burped her half way during her bottle/boob to ease the wind. (It was trial and error on my behalf until I realised what she wanted)

A sign that she has wind is her face (Usually between the eyebrows and on her forehead just above this area) goes a reddish colour. She may also bring her legs up often towards her chest, this shows obvious signs of discomfort.

In my opinion you cannot "spoil" a baby, but as said this is my opinion only and I know many people will disagree with me!

Well, I'm in parenting class and it sounds like collic. Give her foods that are really easy to digest. Suggestions from me is breast milk. It works with the body instead of against as some formulas do. If you are using formula, this could be causing an upset. She may like it, but her tummy might not be able to handle it. So if possible breastfeed. It can last a while, although for her age, it's a bit young for colic. I suggest consulting he pediatrician on this matter, whether just over the phone or a visit.Log down her habits. When is she most upset, you did good noticing positions. Are her stools different when she has different activities. Just watch her close.

Have her doctor check her for GERD (acid reflux). Babies that have GERD have constant or sudden crying or colic like symptoms, irritability and pain, poor sleep habits typically with frequent waking, arching their necks and back during or after eating, spitting-up or vomiting, wet burp or frequent hiccups, and frequent ear infections or sinus congestion. Her doctor can help determine if GERD is the reason for her crying or if something else is wrong.

I had the same problem with my little girl, she never seemed to sleep or stop crying. I was told to wrap her up, nice and tight but safely. Are you wrapping her? Sometimes bub needs to feel secure :) Good Luck

...could be colic? I'm not exactly sure on the "symptoms" of that though. Sometimes babies are fussy just because. All you can really do is talk to your doctor if it continues without anything soothing her.

Please make sure that you're burping her well. It's best to go back even after she's eaten and burped, and do it again in 10 minutes or so to be sure that you have all of the air out of her little tummy even if she seems to be content.
