Current physics has leapfrogged from its so called classical structure where light is constant and is approx. 3x10exp(8)m/s, and accordingly it would travel 18x10exp(9)m in vacuum. So, if you change the medium of travel, it would adjust accordingly.

But modern physics, which is yet shaping up and trying to experiment and verify it theoretical results may come up with a different answer. For now, aforementioned answer should suffice.

Only eleven million, one hundred sixty thousand miles? Could not even make it to the next door neighbor mars in a mnute at the speed of light! On account mars is well over twice that distance (33.9 million miles) I'm disappointed That's all the farther FTL gets me in a minute??? How come no one else here wrote it out in WORDS so it can be related to somehow...numbers mean so little to a person without SOMETHING to relate them to! Also I THOUGHT it has been determined that the speed of light is variable after all?? (for the ones that emphatically said "EXACTLY" etc)

The speed of light = 299 792 458 m / s

Multiple that by 60 seconds for a minute.

You get: 1 800 000 000 meters/min.

In the future, I would recommend google.

the speed of light = 299 792 458 m / s. So, multiply that by 60, and you have your answer of 17,987,547,480 m - or in scientific terms - approx 1.8 x 10^10m.

the speed of light in one second is 300,000km & 1 minute has 60 seconds so
300,000*60= 18,000,000km in 1 minute
