I personally have been happy and unhappy while being moderately comfortable financially. I've not had the experience of being wealthy, but I should guess that the same applies!!!

Of course you'd rather be rich and unhappy than poor and unhappy! Silly! Who wouldnt?

The question you should be asking is if you'd rather be rich and unhappy than poor and happy?

But anyway, about wealthiness bringing happiness. I think a bigger portion of it is true. I wouldnt conclude that being wealthy is a sure thing of being happy but it could contribute a lot. There are some things though that being wealthy cant ever give you.

Well, you can't buy happiness, that's for sure. Wealth can buy or bring you stability, comfort, and ease of living, and alleviate lack of necessities. Happiness is something you have to look for elsewhere, though. True, most humans would rather be rich and unhappy than poor and unhappy...but it's usually the latter, not the former. We don't always get that choice to make ourselves, and it's hard to become rich and (un)happy anyway.

Your question don't make sense! You're trying to compare physical with spiritual... This can't be.
Happiness don't come through money, wealth don't bring happiness, versus poverty and unhappiness don't match either. All this is a matter of attitude! You can be poor and very happy and be rich and really unhappy...
It's all in the head, when you live life with the right attitude!

Happiness only comes from being happy with yourself. Your bank balance doesn't have anything to do with it.

What money will buy is the freedom to do what makes you happy without having to worry about bills. For me, that would be a full time writer.

The trap is money can also make you terribly miserable as one lotto winner found out. Since he won the Powerball, his wife has left him, his house has been robbed several times, he's been in many a bar fight and become an alcoholic, and his granddaughter was murdered. A lot of this stems from his decision NOT TO WORK at anything. His wife, by the way, left him in an effort to straighten him up. It failed and they are divorced now.

The happiest Powerball winner that I know of is the guy who already owned a construction business. He gave a percentage of his win to his church and put most of the rest into his business. He now employs more people than ever before and is happily bidding for more jobs.
He likes what he does and he is now free to do more of it.

In effect, you need to find out what you like to do. Start doing it as a hobby. Eventually you might find yourself with a business, but just being able to do it will help you be happy.

money doesnt bring happiness but it does give you choices. If money could bring happiness then you wouldnt see these people in hollywood trying to commit suicide... in rehab... or always out partying trying surpress their worries and fears and pass the time away.
I understand though about being rich and unhappy rather than poor and unhappy... at least with money you could have choices to do with your life things that might bring you a step or two closer to what you ultimately believe your purpose to be...
But no matter how much you have in your bank account... you can always make something of yourself if you put your mind to it...
but the things that bring fulfillment are relationships with others... knowing where you stand in your beliefs... and knowing yourself...being happy with yourself. :)

Yes,being wealthy can bring happiness. These 2 issues are not mutually exclusive.
If you handle the money wisely, you can be happy and rich. Why not?Life is about decisions that we make and there are many variations of this theme.
You could donate all the money for cancer research for terminally ill kids, build homes for the homeless or single seniors, etc. If that brings you happiness, peace of mind and a deep love of humanity and not expected to be rewarded, the list goes on and on.
Life is not clear cut,it is about making wise decisions. As long as it is wise, the material rank that we are in doesn't matter and wise decisions do make one feel much more than happy, well, perhaps peace and harmony too,but that is another story grasshopper.

there is a story of a couple - who when they were young
and poor - passed a bowl of peanuts between each other for
their meal - and he said - Oh, that these were diamonds

later after MUCH success, they were passing a bowl of diamonds back and forth - and he said, Oh - that these were peanuts

happiness is being content with what you have
do the math - count your blessings
o yeah - that's what Tomorrow is for

years ago I ran a spotlight for a junior high group
that did a program in an extremely weathly section of town

one person in the audience wa$ wearing more around her neck and wrists that I would ever have in a lifetime

she read her part of the program - that was as simple as
this sentence - - - she stumbled over every other word

let me count these blessings again, poorly

all the best

no i dont think so... i dont think happiness is an object... a fast car doesnt make me happy and neither does a big house... i dont think objects are what give us happiness...

the holidays are a great time to ponder this... when you open up that gift to find a PS3 or X box 360 ( i wish haha) stop and think for a second, what are you really happy about... the PS3? i dont think so... if you truly think about it, it doesnt matter what the gift is, you are happy because someone cares enough about you to give you the gift. Think about it, its true. do you say thank you to microsoft for making it or to grandma for giving it to you.

i dont think we are happy because of the objects or money we recieve but rather we are happy that our boss noticed are hard work and rewarded us. to put it simply i geuss its not the thing that makes us happy but rather the reason that we got that thing which truly brings us happiness

Being rich can go both ways...if your rich with greed and only want more for your self..you'll find your self becoming a monster of "want" ..but if you shear your wealth to needed people, families, your community, society, you would have the sence of changing sum ones life for the better, or chaning others peoples lives in your community..but you have to decide what you want to be if your rich...money can destroy everything..i would look at this in this prospective...of what your future could be like...and what it could be like for others...
