Sure, as long as they're not republican. I've had enough of their compassionate conservatism...well, the hypocrisy thing isn't too flattering either.

I can honestly say that if it didnt get out, that would be THE best quality in a president. The government isnt about peoples views, and religions, its about protecting the country and constitution. This constitution says we are not to afflilate religion with government. This leads me to believe that having an atheist president would be the most helpful in the sense of separating law and god.

I do not vote for a Candidate based on their religion.
An Atheist could not take away our right to practice our religion.
The only thing that would prevent me from voting for an Atheist would be their platform. If I disagreed with a majority of what they stood for, that would be the only reason why I would not vote for them.

I don't believe in a religious test for holding public office. Belief or unbelief in a higher power does not indicate whether a person is moral or not. I am a Christian and believe religious socialization is not necessary for character development and the production of quality public servants.

Nobody in politics would go very far if they admitted that they were atheists that's why I do not pay to much mind to a candidates religiosity because there is always a posibility that it is all put on.

Wouldn't bother me. I am not an atheist - but I do not see a need for a president to be any religon at all.

It depends on whether or not I thought that they were qualified. I don't think that anyone should be kept from running who is a citizen. .

if i agreed with the person's policies and felt i could trust him or her as a person i absolutely would. just because a person doesn't have a religion doesn't mean that they have no morals.
