Because our food has so many carbohydrates and sugars in them, we are all going to wind up being diabetic. It's only going to get worse. Poor nutritrion and lack of exercise are some of the main causes of diabetes. Genetics play a part too. The child's chance of having diabetes as an adult is greater having a parent that has been diagnosed with diabetes. As their parent, you need to take ever step possible NOW to help prevent them from developing it too early. It's a rapidly growing epidemic and it's going to be up to parents to slow it down.

daughters are more likely to have diabetes, 50/50 but weight and diet play a huge part in it. your their mom make sure they don't get over weight as a child... that usually leads to adult onset type 2 diabetes.

Most diabetes is caused by poor dietary habits. Provide you and your children with a healthy diet and more than likely they won't become diabetics unless they engage in unheathly eating habits when they become adults.
