But the point is while one may attempt to multiple tasks, it is question of individual task attention, one can provide.The full attention is required to handle any task fool proof, and efficiently.
So when multiple tasks are attempted at a time ,the individual attention suffers and minimises the quality of the output. Some times there may be the cross effect of one task on other and may lead to repetition and waste of time.
You may have experienced this in any event of life. Even mind occupied with thoughts else where and working on a different activity has similar result.You will be unmindful of the reaction and needs of the other persons.

To me multitasking is drinking a cup of coffee and reading a book while sitting on the toilet and waiting for the clothes to finish drying.
What a wonderful feeling of accomplishment !
