I do believes babies don't open their eyes for awhile after birth, so given that proviso, does it make it less traumatic?

no i think it would be too traumatic

in regards to your additional details, im thinking no because the thing i would find traumatic would be learning to breath. Like, all of a sudden you are gasping for air with these lungs that you dont even know how to use. Plus, you have lived in a swimming pool for 9 months and all of a sudden you're pool is being drained of all the water.

Question - Where you ever afraid of the plug hole as a kid in the bath? I know i sure as hell was

I saw on tv someone being born and it was foul.

Seeing parts of my mum that no one should see, would just be horrible.

Birth is not as beautiful as people say, your insides end up on the outside and blood and yuck.

The actual having a baby is good, but the process bad.

I really can't answer that one correctly, I am torn in two directions. Part of me would, and the other part says, O, no, the light is too bright and they are pulling me, man I don't want to be born if this is what the world is like, cold and noisy.

I would love to remember. I used to work in OB nursery and every time I got the chance I would go in the delivery room and watch. Birth is so amazing.

um, well.. i would have to say NO NO NO....

first of all my mom was in real labor with me for 24+ hours.. she told me yesterday that her water broke a week before that.. (what? i didn't know a baby could live like that.. but whatever)
anyway, i was breech, and they needed to x-ray my mom like 5 times to find out what my story was..
(what ever happened to 'stay out of the x-ray room if you are pregnant'?)

so , that, along with the trip out the birthing unit, i would have to pass...

Would I like to remember coming out of THAT part of my mom? Not especially!

It'd most likely weird me out.

No thanks. When you are born and when you die you pass thru a dark tunnel into the light! I think both are quite traumatic.

I'd like to see my parents face. I'd like to know if they always hated me or if the even for a minute, like me.
