I have two 3 taper candle holders made out of silver inherited from my grandmother. The candles I bought are standard taper candles found at Target. They are slightly too small for the holder and tend to lean to one side or the other. Please give me suggestions on an inconspicuous way to make them fit properly. Thanks!!

Here is the 1st answer and only answer. Light the candles and let them drip into the bottom of the candle holders for about 5 or 6 drips. Take the unlit candle and stick it in making sure it is straight and wait a few seconds for it to harden and let it go VOILA!!!! Now do the same for the others

A small amount of clay/ playdough on the bottom of the candle or
drip a small amount of melted wax into the candle holder and then place the candle in the holder.

Either method is easy to clean, place in freezer for a bit and pop out the wax or clay.

Melt wax from another candle into the holder. Quickly insert your new candle and hold until wax hardens, about a minute. An old trick. The wax will wash out with hot water.

As happens, I did just that very recently - so found this poem very moving, with powerful imagery. As ever awake - and alone - I found myself with a broken lighter, and got fed up trying to light tapers from the oven hob in order to have another cigarette. So I lit some candles - using a makeshift holder (a cup) and was fascinated to watch the way the flames did a dance together, sometimes flaring upright, as if each was happily alone - but as I puffed my ciggie, the slightest air movement (smoke ridden zephyr) made the flames bend backwards and forwards in an almost balletic dance. We red-eyed 3am - 4am insomniacs do such things, especially when wide awake but the worse for drink. A strictly personal interpretation - others will have other images. But I liked the 'hooks' - 2nd wind, freshness, seeing beyond, absorption with flickering flames, a glass of drink and images we can't share with others - 'best... sipped alone'. Your best yet.

Place a thumbtack in the bottom of the holder, point up. drip a couple drops of wax down onto the tack. This will hold the tack and you can stick the candle on the tack.
