Its a NFL tradition! The Lions and Cowboys have always played on Thanksgiving. If they didn't play on Thanksgiving thats like having a Thanksgiving with no turkey!

way back when Dallas and Detroit were the only teams that were willing to play then for the cheapest, so they and the NFL signed a 100 year contract that gives them the rights to this day.
