Why do they still use the cliche issue of needing to take turns on the phone on The Real World and other shows? And why do they always have one phone? It doesn't make sense they have all this money now, these shows and network can afford a bunch of phones and maids to clean up the houses.

Yeah but I know some of them have used their own cell phones. In the Key West season, Svetlana had her own cell phone.

Well, I would say the problem this season is that they're oversees and most people don't have international cellphone plans. The producers are never going to do anything to DECREASE conflict. I mean, why don't they get them a maid so they don't have to fight over cleaning? Or better yet, why do they drown then in alcohol (most likely paid for by the show, since none of them have real jobs)? Or why don't they find a place with enough rooms so that they don't have to live in such tight corners or get mad when someone brings someone home? They obviously can afford to, since they give them such lavish places to live.

Like it was back in the 80s. I think the world would be a much better place. I hate when I go somewhere (doctor's office, ride the train, in a restaurant, etc) and someone all of sudden starts speaking very loudly on their cell phones because THEY can't hear the person they are speaking with. Some the ringtones are so freakin annoying. Haven't people heard of vibrate? Then you have those who don't make any effort to get their phones when it's ringing. Dumbazzes! People who use their just for "emergencies". That's why there were pay phones at every street corner.

because the people on these shows are not very smart, they are just a bunch of blond silicone enhanced lab rats and the only way to control these stupid vermin is to isolate them from other people who just might have an I.Q, higher than room temperature. its one of those top secret government conspiracy's to keep stupid people single long enough so that they get to old a vain to reproduce, and its working quite well.

It causes fights over the phone, so the producers are never going to get enough phones for everyone.
If everyone had their own phone, they would never interact with each other.
