Every constiuency has a member that sits in a "House" often more than one when you add in Senate and then and then

But - here is the plan

1/4 or 7/8 though a term in office if you can gather 2/3 of the voters on a pettition for your constituancy then an election for that seat must be called and that politican must re - run or he/she is out of whatever House they sat in

If someone else wins then - they get to serve out the rest of the term - wether that be a day or 3 yrs 361 days

A way to fire the employee and not have to put up with them for a 4 yrs contract if and when the people feel that it is not deserved

I know of absolutely no one who after beiing hired can not be fired for 4 yrs and I see no reason why a politican should be the exception

Why not support this idea

Ok hire me and I will do what I like - I may or may not show up and I might just give myself a raise

Why not just wait 4 yrs and then terminate the contract between you and me

Are you ok with that because I am

By the way don't expect me in on Monday I don't do Mondays - Feel free to fire me in 4 yrs Thanks bud - we are still friends right ?

Ok that is true there will alway be a few constantly trying to defeat the Memeber

Ok fine let them try

If they get the names on the pettition in the right amounts (real names real voters) then OK re-call time

Other than that it is their time and their nickel - So let them try let them spend it

No one said you have to sign a pettition if you disagree

Because that would lean more towards democracy. Ironic eh?

With respect to the U.S. House of Representatives the people have the opportunity every two years to throw them out of office by electing someone else. But, considering that less than one in five U.S. adults has ever read the Constitution and over half of them can't even identify the Member of Congress for their district, you have an uphill battle trying to get the recall process start applying to Federal officers.

human beings do no longer inevitably favor extra means over the politicians. they basically favor to employ the means they already have! voters can already impeach / bear in mind their elected representatives in the journey that they do unlike their performance, yet in reality that they do exactly no longer care sufficient to take action. in protecting with Bolivar's "direct democracy" idea, which couldn't in any respect artwork contained in the U.S. as an total. the country/inhabitants is too huge. i could also mission to wager that the Swiss actually everyone appears extra in touch and extra in music with their politics than the U.S. inhabitants on universal. that would artwork on a city or county factor, yet probable no longer a lot larger than that. There are basically too many subject matters accessible that maximum individuals do exactly no longer have the advice, the position-with-all, or time to make knowledgeable, cautioned judgements.

I think most people see the effort as a waste of time and a distraction. I bet you would find that are constantly fringe efforts underway that never gain any real traction.

Sometimes it happens. I lived in California when Governor Gray Davis was recalled and Arnold was elected in his place.

Something needs to be done. This is as good as anything I've heard. Some of these partisan political idiots need a wake up call. We can start with Pete Stark, Diane Finestein, Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi.

That sounds like a great idea, but it will never happen. The simple fact is, Congress writes (and passes) laws. That means the people you're attempting to fire would have to fire themselves. No person in his right mind would ever remove himself from a list of untouchables. It's a noble idea, but you're wasting your time.
