there is a child in me and it does not necessarily surface because it is really a part of me that i am proud to have.

i believe that even when i turn 100 years old, there will always be a child in me who will believe in the wonders and magic of life and of living, who will marvel at the unknown and yearn to sate my curiosity, who will still dream and look at the world with child-like innocence....

That depends on who you are asking! If you're asking a psych enthusiast, then YES there is definitely an inner child in each of us. Think of making a snowman, making a wish, blowing bubbles...that's the inner child! The part of us that wants to be a kid again and have no cares and just have fun! I allow mine to come out whenever possible. I believe our inner child is what keeps us young at heart!

This is a poem, about the child with in. I actually got the idea of the poem from watching my daughter when she was so small.

There is this little girl I know who is always busy and a little shy.

With lots of things she wants to learn and always asking "why?"

She has more energy flow then a nuclear power plant.

so... Don't ask her to sit still,

She simply can't.

She has more energy flow then most kids I know,

Where does she get that kind of pick up and go?

Frustration on a parents face is soon to show.

But then....

We must remember and always try to understand,

What it is like to be a child on the other hand.

Try to look at the world through their tiny eyes.

We must not scrutinize.

And wipe their tears from their sorrowful cries.

Remember....????

The Child With in,

never dies.

Some of you may believe this to be a lie,

That as we grow up, the child does die.

How sad a life this must be,

To deny the child with in to see,

and living life,

far to seriously.

The Child With in is where all happiness does begin.

So we may feel laughter, a smile or a grin.

The playful energy that has always been.

So...

We need not forget..

The Child With in...

Spirit written in 97.. about my own child, and the child with in me.. forever living energy....

Yes, we all have an "inner child" in us. It surfaces in so many instances in our lives manifesting through our being innocent, happy, playful, mischievous, irresponsible, greedy, jealous and throwing tantrums when we don't get what we want.

I allow my "playful and happy" self to surface each time I am with my grandchildren. To my husband, I show him my "child-like tantrums" to get his attention to something I like but, this isn't often. Usually, I just buy the thing myself to save me some few tears and resorting to silent treatments.
