Do you think Griffey will be traded to the Braves ? I sure hope so he deserves to be on a winning team.

Since the Reds are probably destined to finish near the bottom of the NL Central with the Pirates regardless if they have Griffey, they should explore all trades involving him. It has been known that Atlanta is interested in Junior, since they need a CF to replace Andruw Jones until Brandon Jones (no relation to Andruw) is major league ready. Griffey would jump at the chance to play for a contender and the Braves are loaded with prospects. This might get done during the Winter meetings in two weeks!

What station did you hear this on? This has to be another Bors and Berstein special where they just make 'what if' scenarios. I don't think this is even close to happening, but I would definitely do it in a heartbeat if it is. 6 weeks ago, you would have done it, also. Do 6 starts for Marshall in the span of a career really raise his stock that much? He didn't even make the team at the beginning of the season. Anyone who thinks that Jacque Jones is a good person to have on your team hasn't watched a game in a few years. I can't stand the way he throws into the ground and whines every time he strikes out looking. It won't happen. Griffey is the face of the Reds. If I were a Reds fan, I would feel like the team slapped me in the face.

Griffey Jr. is getting pretty old. His family is settled in Cincinatie. Family is a big deal to him so i dont see him moving at sutch an old age. If he does get traded it will be against his own will. I do not see any trade happening. I think he will retire where his dad retired, on the Reds

There are lots of rumors, but Griffey to the braves is a nice fit.

if he goes to the Braves, he won't be on a winning team. They may have a winning record, but they won't win anything more that that. He would have a better chance of winning if he was traded to a team like the Red Sox, Indians, Angels or Yankees. There he could DH and also be used as a 4th outfielder

Griffey has 10/5 veto rights, so he's not going anywhere unless he likes the destination. Or they make it $worth his while.

Once Giambi is gone I wouldn't mind having Jr tee off on that short porch in Yankee Stadium as the DH. The new stadium will have similar dimensions so that should be cool. However, I don't think Jr is going anywhere but Seattle. He went back there this year for the 1st time and he said how much he missed the fans there.

I don't think that he is a free agent until after the 2008 season. But the Reds have an option for him after that.
