Full house beats a straight, unless it's a straight where all the cards are the same suit.

Vivian, here is a good list of the hand rankings.

It's really important to learn this before playing poker.

The only time a straight beats a full house is if it what is known as a straight flush. This is a straight where all five cards are the same suit. But a regular straight or a regular flush does not beat any full house.

A straight flush, yes. A normal straight or a normal flush does not beat a full house.

no, a flush beats a straight, but not a full house..

here..
# Royal flush - The ace, king, queen, jack, and 10 of one suit.
# Straight flush - Five sequential cards belonging to the same suit.
# Four of a kind - Four cards of the same rank (e.g., four queens).
# Full house - Three of a kind, and a pair.
# Flush - Five cards of the same suit (non-sequential).
# Straight - Five cards in sequence, regardless of suit.
# Three of a kind.
# Two pair.
# Pair.
# Nothing - If two people have nothing, the person with the highest ranking card wins
