the word "love" is a perfect term to describe my feelings towards the New York Yankees. They are the best AL team of all time.

There are only 3 things that can make me cry. My wife leaving me. My child feeling any pain. & my beloved Cubs. The only times i have cried the last 5 years is the birth of my daughter and when the cubs lost game 7 of the 2003 LCS!

I would say that is love!

The word LOVE has so many meanings, it's practically worthless! It's so overused and linked in so many ways, how can we truly grasp its effect on the giver or the receiver of such affection?

I love my car. I love pizza. I love my son. Does that mean I love a machine more than my flesh & blood? NO! Does that mean you can take a sledgehammer to my ride, just don't touch the pepperonis? NO! It means the English language, while being the most complex in the world, is poorly equiped to deal with POSITIVE human emotions and never developed the proper words to make the phrase "I love the Cardinals" mean anything in the proper perspective in accordance to things and people that actually matter in life!

i have two words

passion
admiration

i love the phillies to death. i can see the passion in their eyes when they play, and people watching me watching a phils game can see my passion. i admire the phillies for their performance on the field, as well as in the community. Jamie Moyer has a charity foundation, Chase Utley rescued a tortured dog and paid thousand and thousands dollars worth of medical bills and the team visits the childrens hospital of philadelphia several time yearly. I just know that they play with heart, and admire them

i love this question. reminded me of how much i love the phils =)

I have two passions in this world, My fiancee and the Detroit Tigers. Let me paint a picture here:

I love my fiancee.
I love the Detroit Tigers.

When it comes to my fiancee:
There are times when she makes some really dumb decisions.
There are times when I'd like to strangle her.
There are times when I can barely stand to look at her.
There are times when I want to give her up for good.
And although we've been through some really tough times together, ultimately, I will always remain faithful to her and I will love her forever.

With that being said, I think Love is the perfect word.

I don't know about love being the right word. I do love the Yankees but it's more a respect for tradition. There are so many great Yankee stories that no other team has. When you really get into them you can't help but be moved and awed by it. That is what fuels my passion for the Yankees. I am lucky to have been born in the Bronx or otherwise I may have to root for some other loser team. COUGH Red Sox COUGH!!

Works for me - We have teenage kids (try finding anything you can do together)
BUT - we all like baseball and tailgatting at Phillies games so part of our summer vacation is spent at CBP cooking dogs and brauts and rooting for our beloved Phils!
Baseball is a wonderful sport!

This is easy for me to explain.

When you memorize every player and number on the team, your obsessed.
When you watch every game of your team's season, your devoted.
When you do all those things, expect your team to do good every year, even though they probably wont do anything (Especcially when thats been the case for 99 years), thats love.

If thats not love, I dont know what love is...
If not thats love, I dont know what love is...

I am a die hard Yankee fan, but I wouldn't use the term love. I only use the term with people who love me.
