Halogen and blue/ white bulbs give the closest light to natural indoors. Nothing beats natural light for true colors.

My personal choice is the OttLight. Reasonably expensive, but it is 100% color corrected, not merely shifted away from yellow as the Reveal bulb is. Mine has been in daily use for over three years and I still haven't replaced so much as a bulb. As I travel quite extensively and take this light with me, I have to consider it a good value for the price.

When I have time to paint, I use a desk lamp with a halogen light bulb. That seems to work for me.

Ott lights are great, and they come in tabletop models so you can shine it right on your work.

get some GE Reveal lights (blue) or an Ott light (true outdoor light)...maybe you're color blind ??? (you don't have to see all one color to be color blind...)
