The advice about the reasons as topic sentences of body paragraphs is good, but you asked about starting. You should begin by catching the reader's attention, for example with some startling statistics about young drivers and accidents. Then lead into your thesis statement, which should be the last sentence of your introductory paragraph. Once you get into the body and are ready to set forth your arguments, arrange them in climax order--order of increasing importance, with the strongest or most impressive argument last..

ah starting off essays... OK start with an interesting fact, quote, something shocking, or a statistic. Intrigue the reader, and lead on from there. Well that's what I was taught good luck with the essay :)

Try starting off with some statistics that work with your point. Starting with concrete information will grab the reader's attention and then following with your argument will keep them interested.

i don't know if this will help, but if you're stuck and aren't sure of what to write, sit and for one minute think of anything that comes to mind. it really helps
good luck!
