What tribe is your father a citizen of? I never heard someone describe a parent as a "full native american" before. Besides, any tribal citizen is a "full native american" as you can't be a part of percentage of a person. Why don't you have any connections to your tribal relatives? (and what "stuff behind it) did he stop doing? Do we celebrate thanksgiving? Yes, we give thanks every day. Do we celebrate the holiday in November to commemorate the pilgrims? No. We'll have a family dinner, gather, watch the football game and enjoy the day off. If your Grandmother did the whole turkey and cranberrry sauce thing, maybe she was very urban and didn't associate with the tribe, so felt more comfortable celebrating in the same style as her neighbors. So what tribe do your father and grandmother belong to? btw...I sure hope "Dakota" is a badly chosen user name and not your real name. "Dakota" means "The allies", and it is a plural word for a group of people. Calling someone "Dakota" is as stupid as naming someone " The Irishmen". It is ridiculous and nonsensical. (It is also offensive to the real Dakota people) If your parents really gave you that name, then I KNOW they weren't remotely native american. We know better than to do stupid stuff like that. oh wait...you're the girl who said her father was "red cherokee". yeah.......Now, I'm really not buying it. You've got a family myth here.

I do not celebrate Thanksgiving, out of protest of the inhumane way the White man treated Native Americans.
The White man has left a long pathetic legacy of racism on this country, which has been passed down from generation to generation.

They give thanks to the GREAT SPIRIT in the sky for the fact that they no linger have to fight barbaric battles with other tribes.
Then they go to MacDonald's like everyone else on planet earth.
