They will demand as much as the market will bare, and the ticket prices for sporting events have gone through the roof. Until attendance starts to drop, they will keep going higher.

I think they should be paid as much as they are paid as long as someone out there is willing to pay. If you were the best player in the wheelchair basketball, and someone was willing to pay you $20million a season, then why wouldn't you take it. I think they definitely deserve it, why shouldn't a wheelchair basketballer earn as much as an NBA pro? As long as someone is willing to pay so n so dollar amounts for whatever sport, the best player in that sport should earn that amount. I do however believe that sometimes there is more to life than just money, like a championship. Shaq and Duncan both took a paycut (lol) so they could have more talent around them and that would give them a better chance at a championship. And they got it. You can't buy a championship.

I think they deserve whatever they are paid. It would be nice if the owners were able to lower salaries and also ticket prices so more people could afford to go to games. If tv ratings and ticket/merchandise sales go down, player salaries are sure to follow.

if u break it down, bench players make around 10 to 40 grand per game. not that much considering celebrities make hundreds of thousands of dollars for simple appearances.

Sure. Here's my take: idk if it's a good thing or a bad thing but the way it affects me when I hear how much someone else makes (DOESN'T HAVE TO BE AN ATHLETE - IT COULD BE A CEO) it makes me work harder to make more money myself, so in a way it could be looked on as a good motivator.
