I also have a sister-in-law that talks too loud and she never adds to the meal or the clean up, She is just the Grand Queen of the family... :))

And here I thought I was going to feel lonely with just my
hubby and I. There is something to be said for those we
would rather be away from during holiday gatherings. Boy
when I think of one sister who is always the loud mouth. But
she hasn't been a part of any family celebration since we
three siblings disbanded after mom died.
And then when things were moved to my oldest aunts house,
she was a bear from the time we got there. She was under
such stress, not being used to many people in her house. So
she found me to nit pick on for some reason. But she's no
longer with us, nor the rest of my aunts.
There was a second cousin who was my same age, and he
and I had been friends growing up. But he took on a holier
than thou personality after he turned 55. And seemed to turn
into a snob, for some reason. Well he's moved to Germany
since his mom died, so he's not around anymore either.
Then there's our daughter who I am always walking on
eggshells with her. One never knows her moods and she's
quick to rant if she's stressed out. But she's going to her
girlfriends again for dinner. So she won't be around either.
So it will be hubby and me, and maybe our grandson, who
will make three. And hopefully it will be a semi quiet day with
just movies on the screen and hubby doing most of the cooking. And me with the clean up after. I can sure think of
worse Thanksgivings I've already had. So this one is bound
to be a good one. And one to enjoy what the holiday is all
about.

No, I'm spending the day with three of my neighbors, as one of my sons & his family are in Ohio, with my ex & his wife for Thanksgiving. My other son lives further south of me & will be spending the day with his family, because he was unable to come up this year. My neigbors are also good friends, & we all enjoy time spent together. Is your sister-in-law deaf? Sometimes people who are on the deaf side, tend to talk loud.

Yeah. I hate to say it but my aunt. I used to idolize her as a kid but the older I've gotten the more of a pain in the patoot she's become. Last year, she was really out of it and she stayed with us overnight. And then there are my youngest brother's inlaws because they "have no place to go." I'm not particularly fond of them at all but they've had a special "Saturday Thanksgiving" for years originally because my sister in law had to work Thanksgiving. I used to cook Christmas Eve dinner and invite them for the same reason, too, but I've never once been included in that Saturday thing. Not that I'd look forward to it, but it would be a nice gesture. And, hey! How about calling me and asking ME if they can come to my house for Thanksgiving instead of asking my dad? I'm the one cooking and it is my house. Oh well.....

thankfully, i haven't long gone to a kin Thanksgiving for years. merely the three human beings the next day. I basically might desire to handle my drunkoffhisass brother two times a twelve months, Christmas and the kin reunion. For that i'm grateful.

Tomorrow I will be attending the funeral of an American Soldier. His name is Sgt Derek R. Banks, from Hampton, Virginia. I am not looking forward to seeing his family and friends who are shattered by the loss of Sgt. Banks. I will be standing with many other Patriot Guard Riders at the church in a Corridor of Flags in honor of Sgt. Banks. I will then be riding with this group of Patriot Guard Riders to escort his body to the Veterans' Cemetery and stand in a Line of Flags in honor of this soldier, and his family.
Why am I not looking forward to seeing those folks tomorrow? They should not be grieving for one more American soldier. Thanksgiving Day must not have been much of a celebration for Sgt. Banks' family.
I enjoy riding with my brothers and sisters of the PGR, but we much prefer the WELCOME HOME missions to the FAREWELL (as a troop goes to or returns to Iraq/Afghanistan) or HONOR missions (for funerals).
To see how it looks for the PGR to do an honor mission, just go to the links below.
The FOURTH link below is who we stand AGAINST. Those people who are represented by Ms. Phelps are....can't find the right word without some nimrod troll reporting me, so you use your own judgment after watching her.

When we can get together I'm always glad to see my family. Just a thought, is it possible that your sister-in-law may have some hearing loss? I've know that to be the case sometimes when people speak loudly.

not this year...I cut my list dramatically. With the death of my business partner this fall, I decided that I would not entertain anyone I had ideological differences with, and that includes fundamenalists also...I am not up to any more sermons while I am footing the bills! Call me cold, but some people get on my nerves and this year, I decided that those people could find other arrangements. They even had the nerve to call and ask if WE were having Thanksgiving and what time should they come! Hmmmmmmm We won't go into what I told them. Phil

Wick, I am happy to see everyday... When I am around folks who speak very loudly... I reach out to their neck and fiddle around like I'm turning down the volume on an old radio... they always ask me what I'm doing... so I tell them I was looking for the volume control to turn it down... some folks truly don't realize that they are speaking so loudly... I do this in a fun way, no harm intended, we all laugh and my ears get a reprieve!
