Actually, I always heard the sun is about 8 light minutes from earth. If it just winked out of existence, no bang or nothing, I suppose first off we'd careen off off our orbit, maybe we'd eventually be drawn into a larger planet, like jupiter or saturn...but I'd hazard to guess we'd be dead long before that happened. I'd give us a day or so. But, thats a total guess.

I won't live, because I would not want to live in a freaky world with no Sun.
We would not survive that in reality anyway even if someone would want to try. ALL life as we know it would need sun to continue so we would all die. If any life shoudl continue here on Earth it would have to be reborn and mutated in ways to fit the new environment. But I am betting that would not happen. Our planet would be dead like all others we know of.

The time it takes for the light to reach the earth from the sun is about 4.5 minutes. After that the earth will get very cold, very fast.

Basically, by the time you figure out the sun has "snuffed out", you'd be dead very shortly afterwards.

That means no more life supported by the Sun. No more Human race.

We can't continue without the sun. It would first and foremost turn exceptionally cold very quickly, and then all plants would die. With cold temperatures and plants dead, it wouldn't take us much longer to kick the bucket. Cheery outlook, isn't it? Humans can't survive without the sun. Bottom line. Buy canned goods and a propane heater!

Hi. No heat or power source means no food. We would survive until the food runs out, or the oxygen is used up, or we freeze. Not long at all.

We might last about a week. After that, it would get too cold to survive. Even global warming wouldn't save us! (We might survive about a week longer if we learn to build an igloo)!

I'm not sure at what rate the Earth would lose heat, so I don't know how long it would take, but without sunlight we'd freeze to death.

Of course, without sunlight plants would die too, and the animals that eat them would die.

The earth would be a frozen wasteland in days. No heater will help you would just freeze.

We should turn our bodies to pure energy, and then absorb all stars one by one ;) like we have absorbed all oil on earth
