My favorite food, if I still could get them from my grandma, it would be her German dumplings. If I could make them without failing, it would also be them. They are so light and poofy and just seem to melt in your mouth without much chewing. They were made of bread dough, rather than biscuits.
Secondly, dressing/stuffing, made from old bread not the
dried cubes you buy with just a hint of sage. And mashed potatoes and turkey gravy. Green bean casserole, and canned cranberry sauce. I hate the home made and the sticks and skins often in them when served at the table. And a fruit salad with whipped cream my mom used to make, called, Ambrosia. And a fruit pie for dessert later. Maybe an apple with lattice crust.
I didn't mention candied yams or sweet potatoes since I
have never been a fan of them. If we do have a fruit salad
then it will make my day complete, since it was always a
family tradition, and when I have made the dinner for my
family, I always included it. So bon appetite!

Cornbread stuffing with giblet gravy is my favorite. Home made yeast rolls. Roasted yams, mashed, with lots of butter. Deviled eggs. You can keep the rest, including the bird. I can make a meal of these. Now a couple of hours after dinner is a good time for pecan or apple/mince pie. Or both!

Chili-the two classic hamburger chili or fowl white bean. My secret element is beer. It provides it a super style-merely placed it in early and permit it cook dinner an exceedingly long term over low. I placed frank's crimson warm in too....with the fowl I precise with bitter cream, cheese and taco chips. Crackers for crimson meat. good success!

I sincerely hope you ALL have a very happy thanksgiving, doing whatever you please.
I won't get dressed, because I don't expect company. Hubby and I plan to have leftover Applebee's meal, with green salad and fruit salad later.
That's the way we WANT it. Last year, the kids spoiled my plans to have hot dogs at Christmas!

I like the carrots alright, but I really agree with Sage Seeker, other than the oysters.
If I'm eating oysters I want them off the BBQ in the summer.

I must admit, I love all the foods........but am fond of green bean casserole and love the glazed carrots-such as yourself.....I like white meat, soft, hot buttered yeast rolls--fresh from the oven.....No one has ever made them as good as my mother......
