,Of course you can...Leave the past, live for today and tomorrow, but never forget the past...If you do you are doomed to repeat it. What is done is done. When we learn from our mistakes, they are worthwhile,no matter how painful the experience. But if no lessons are learned, they are wasted.

Most of the time, unless I get a trigger to a bad event from the past. I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, so sometimes I have to live the moment and then get on with the day. The past is just that, and I don't dwell there. When it appears, I deal with it and move on.

We must definitely leave the past to 'enter' today. But keep with you whatever you have learned & earned in the past. These make you mature. (that is why we must listen to the olders & elders).
But donot live for today only. Use your experiences of the PAST to frame a better TODAY which you can preserve for enjoying a joyous FUTURE.

Your past is part of your life and I don't think it can ever be eradicated from you... I do think it's possible to overcome disadvantages that your past may have created. You have to figure out what might be important or useful from the past and keep it with you and ditch the rest in order to live for today, and tomorrow:) If it's hard to gain personal distance from your past experiences then it is certainly worth considering counseling to do so.

Good Luck. x

Yes! The past is just that, the past. History. Gone. Done. There is no way to go back and change it. Accept it, learn from it, and move on. Those that dwell in the past are stuck out of time, and tend to let their entire future pass them by.

Yes- Always live for today- but embrace your yesterdays and figure out tomorrow when its today!

Yeah girl/boy whateva you is. If u need company I leave the past wit u.

I'm just playing but yeah you can leave the past unless it's something you don't want to forget but if it's something bad you need to forget it. My motto is u can't start the present unless u end the past.

Yes, you can very well..........leave the past and live for today...........but remember, you will never, ever forget the past. It will go to the back of your mind, and brought forward from time to time, but never completely forgotten.

No. I think the past is a trillion times better than the present. At least a hundred years ago people didn't worry about terrorists and global warming.
