Now, I pretty convinced on the answer to this one, but I got in an argument today over who is a better guitarist, Eric Clapton, or the dude from The Red Jumpsuit Aparratus. Her argument was that if no one has heard of Clapton, how can he be good? Who do you think is better?

I can't beleive someone here agreed with the red jumpsuit apparatus... that needs an explanation. And, yeah, completly serious, she has never heard of Eric Clapton.

Almost everyone has heard of Eric Clapton. He has been around for a long time and will be here long after this Jumpsuit guy has faded into oblivion.

Eric Clapton by far........not only is he one of the greatest blues/rock guitarists, he is also self-taught........... Some of his songs are among the most famous in classic and contemporary rock:
Layla
Tears in Heaven
Save The World
Sunshine of Your Love
most people have at least heard on of those and can probably imitate the guitar riffs

I've heard many discussions on the all-time great guitarists.
Guitar Magazine proclaimed Duane Alman to be the best all-time. Clapton, Hendrix, Santana, Van Halen, Jeff Beck were mentioned.
The Asparratus dude was not. I'll have to give him a listen. Not ever hearing of EC?......C'mon!!

Eric Clapton, i mean he has all that experience and is just amazing!!! the other guy is great too but Clapton can just do it so gracefully yet in a fast pace way!!!
