can you play ps2 games on the new ps3 game system..?

The only PS3's that can play PS2 and PS1 games are the 20GB, 60GB, and 80GB models. The 40GB PS3 cannot play PS2 games, but it can play PS1 games.

You should be able to play most Ps2 games on the Ps3. Ps3 has backwards compatibility making it able to play the Ps2 games.

yes you can the only people who say no r the ones that owns a xbox 360 and dont know anything about a ps3. The fact is that it can play games from 1994.

first of all, have you ever tried? because i have an xbox and i put some of its games on my xbox 360 and some of them work. sometimes the games wont do it, but im sure some of yours will. but dont worry, your ps3 wont brake. but you cant put the new ps3 games into the ps2s.
