university of texas at austin has one of the best business schools out there.

it wouldn't hurt to apply to the stern school at nyu, or wharton at u penn, as long as you don't expect to get in easy.

good luck!

Well, how good are your grades and SAT scores, where do you live, and are you thinking of private schools? Wharton is one of the best (U of Pennsylvania) but getting in depends on your grades/scores and finances.

Okay--make a list of about 5-7 schools. Make 1-2 "reach" schools--NYU and Penn on that list. Then the next 3-4 should be probables--where your demographics fit the entering class (grades, type of school, etc.). If you are African-American, there are lots of scholarships for going into finance especially, and if you are interested in that you want to consider NYU (Columbia doesn't have an UG in business). Check the references the others have left. Be sure to think of the "intangibles," do you want to go to school in a big city? More rural? What kinds of student demographics? Intern possibilities? How active are the alumni (VERY important for business schools)?

If you are looking for business definetly look for a school in the city, you will have more opportunities for interships. Some really good business schools are in MA, such as Bentley, Bryant, and Brandeis, and Babson. They are tough to get into but definetly worth looking at.
