I just declared war against Xerces with my 300 but then I realized most of my army was stationed at other towns, and Xerces is marching to attack me, I'm not sure I'll have any time to get my 300 together. Tips?

Set everyone up to randomly attack from different directions at different times and then retreat after doing a significant amount of damage. Otherwise, set up a large strategic ambush and just jump him once. Simple.
