You are a brave soul, dear. Most of the answers will be pretty brutal here.
Religious fanatics are mostly emotionally and mentally weak people. They have a hard time dealing with turbulence's of every day life, so religion offers them a constant support. It must be nice to be able to blame all of your actions on God, so you do not have to take responsibility for them. They also enjoy getting together with others like minded people: their strength is in numbers. They gladly give up their ability to think as a payment for sense of belonging. Being led by the nose by power hungry religious leaders is their every day reality.
However, intelligent and self assured individuals could never partake in an arrangement like that. Because we are used to question everything.
I personally do not believe that blaming game would solve any problems in this world: let's agree to disagree. No matter how much we try to explain our position to the opponent, we could never change each other's mind.

This is true in a sense and based on the innuendo that atheists are produce by religious lies. Religious zealots are also those whose beliefs are so entrenched in historical information that they are not only confined but closed minded to other religious concepts and sometimes even barred from the exploration of other forms of spiritual dogma. What all this has to do with gender and women's studies beguiles me, however, I've at least attempted to address the issue presented though it was grossly misplaced in the wrong category.

Atheists made that decision on their own, it irregardless what they read; chances are their minds were all ready 98% made up before they heard or read any thing; meaning what they were looking for is something to validate their opinion; they don't find it in one place, they go search in another.

Atheism is a religion too. You can't blame someone for having a religion, its way too deep for anyone to even judge or critisize.
(and thats coming from an atheist)
