Where are you at, on the barracks. If you are there are other wives in your predicament. All of you can be there and support each other. They are probably lonely also. If not you need to get out a keep busy. Hang out with friends, join a gym, volunteer, take a class or a hundred other possibilities. There is so much to do. If you sit idle you will feel more lonely so get going. Even if you do not feel like it go anyway and you will be glad that you did. The first step is the hardest. The advise you got about the journal was also a great one. Good luck dear.

I am a military veteran of 20+ years, If you are close to a military base or post seek out wives groups or do some volunteer work, (i.e. hospital, wives club, social services, school etc.) there is no need to be depressed. Go shopping, find other woman or wives that are in the same predicament. Make new friends. If religion is more toward your orientation seek spiritual guidance and wisdom. Go to a movie with your friends. The choices are limitless. most of all have fun your man will be home before you know it.

Their is no real way of giving advise on what to do for loneliness, it is what it is, and its only natural for you to feel this way, If ya did,nt it would mean that you dont love your husband, so what I,ll tell you today is that you must be strong for your hubby, I mean geez, he,s preparing to put his life on the line for the love of his country and to me thats one of the most honorable things a man can do, so what I would do is just take things one day at a time, and just stay focused on the important things in life, like being a good wife to your husband and staying afloat, he will need your strength and guidance more now then ever before, so take your negative feelings and turn them into positive thinking, and before you know it, he will be back home with you.

Pick up old habits that you've let slip. Find a nice book. Go hand out with friends you have not seen in a while. Take a vacation if you need to.
It's hard to have people so close to us get deployed. But you shouldn't let it ruin your time.

While my husband was deployed, I went out and bought a journal. Every night I wrote a letter to him in the journal, mostly stupid stuff, what I did that day, random thoughts, etc. When the journal was full, I mailed it to him and bought another. It was great for both of us, I talked about my loneliness and stuff and it helped, and he really appreciated it. I even used the opportunity to break the ice on other conversations I was nervous about. I really recommend it!

Buy a journal, write him letters, look at pics of him, do all that stuff, sure.

But, for real, go online and buy one of those "c*ck and bouncy ball" sex toys, and have some fun with it while he's gone. Put a picture of his face on it.

It's one of those large bouncy balls that you can hop around on, except it's got a replica schlong molded into it. I'm serious, have some fun with it.
