I'm American but I was born in China and visited there a few years ago.

In Hong Kong and the major cities in China, The Beatles, Zeppelin and Floyd are pretty well known (the Stones too) but in the more rural villages, they have no idea who the heck any of these bands are. I saw a store in Hong Kong sell a Beatles Tshirt and I heard them play Stairway to Heaven in a store. But then again I was in this store in a small city in southern China and they were playing Eminem.... odd thing was it was a store I was taking my little cousin too, and it was selling Hello Kitty stuff. Odd to hear the Real Slim Shady in a store filled with pink stuff animals......

And you know my opinions on these bands :0)

Well, you know that me, here in England, loves all 3!
Especially Led Zeppelin!

From what I've seen here in Britain, The Beatles are favourites with people of all ages, and the others are mostly popular with people over 20ish ~ with a few exceptions.

And of course, there has been HUGE interest in the Led Zeppelin reunion gig, as well as the Pink Floyd reunited performance at Live Aid {they showed those young pretenders how Rock should be played!}.

Just to add a small rant :~
Unfortunately, the recent trend for 'band t-shirts' means that there are teenagers walking around with these great bands on their shirts, and no idea what the music sounds like :(

I'm American.

But I'd like to say that I've been to a couple places around the world. I'm not so sure about Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, but The Beatles are wildly popular in pretty much anywhere. International charts pretty much confirm that, and the news and international MTV channels seem to make a big deal of The Beatles and their members' later works. It's like they're making some excuse to put them on.

I like all three. They're among my favorite bands. Favorite albums for each: Led Zeppelin I, Meddle, Abbey Road, respectively.

Oh, and it's obvious that all three of them are popular in England.

Great Question!

Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd aren't as well known here, but for those who do know them, they are HIGHLYY respected. Not as much The Beatles though, because I think a big part of the respect they recieve is the height of fame they reached and all their hype, and that never really spread out to here.

Born and raised in California, but for the last two years living in Jordan.

I'm American, but I have a friend who lives in and is from Italy. We don't talk about music too much (very different tastes...she loves the top 40 stuff while I despise it), but she didn't mention that the Rolling Stones are popular there. She told me that when they were doing a concert there over the summer. I know that wasn't one of the bands you listed, but I thought I would mention it anyway...

You can use Last.FM and look at other countries charts (although they are hard to find at first...) to get a good idea.

As an American I think all three of those bands are awesome and deserve all of the respect and praise they have received. They created timeless music.

Of course you do realize all three of those bands are British, right?
