There is less emphasis placed on people socializing than was present in the last generation.Television was not available, video games were non existent, few owned automobiles and the way to meet girls was to know how to dance and find places where dances were sponsored. At that time the Big Bands were popular so many places existed in our area which had dancing ,from ball rooms to rooms in the YMCA and YWCA. Dancing was taught in the Y's as well as grammar and high schools as an extra curricular activity.

I think that I can, but when I dance in crowd I feel like my dance is pretty horrible, but the point is that you need to make dancing a fun thing, and have your style on it, don't just copy what other people do, have your very own dance style and feel good, that's how you can attract others

I can Waltz. But other than that, I am the proverbial uptight white guy. Arm flailing about, legs stiff, feet never leaving the floor, and staring at her boobs.
Of course if I get a bit over excited I always revert back to air guitar. I will now hang my head in shame.....no I won't! I'm a headbanger, and PROUD of it!!!
