I think of a dress and needles and thread! I would not name my child Hem. You can relate it to Hemming and Hawing too...not good for the school years of that child.

I do not like it. Hem is the sewn up seam on the bottom of a piece of clothing (the hem of a skirt... for example)

hem is that short for hemlock. Your at a meeting someone clears that throat and says a-hem, sorry just had some flim in my throat. Or they just call me zipper or collar or button. No dont do it it is to easy to abuse.

I don't like it. For one, it reminds me of sewing or a hem on a piece of clothing, and it will sound like "him" when people say it, which will be kind of confusing.
