I hear conflicting reports,did he fulfill his obligation or not?

It's now well established that George W. Bush never showed up for National Guard duty for a period of approximately one year, possibly more, in 1972-1973. Despite all the talk about "honor and dignity," Bush seems to have a problem meeting his commitments.

Last I remember hearing was when a writer was looking for his military record prior to his first term, it had been conveniently 'misplaced' by the Texas Air Guard and was not available for review. I haven't read much else about it since then other than he did not fulfill his full obligation and left the Guard early to help out with a political campaign.

Actually contrary to what some other politicians have said. He fulfilled his commitment.

Ask Dan Rather, oh wait, he was canned for trying to make up stories about Bush not fulfilling his commitment to the Air Guard.
