Rivers are formed from "branches" which are just trickles of water. They form creeks which form small rivers. The river grows as other tributaries (e.g creeks and other rivers) empty into it.

Rivers develop strong currents that can be dangerous. Bridges have to be constructed to cross a river. Some rivers have ferrys but not many. Most cities and towns are built next to rivers for water and transportation

Barges pushed by tugboats carry raw materials and consumer goods. Many people have boats they use for fishing and water skiing.

Rivers meander quite a bit winding in the shape of a "u". This causes "sandbars" to build up in river corners. Whirlpools form when currents cross each other. A river finally empties into another river, gulf, bay or ocean.

you can see the current and river flow which is the same as whirlpools. The things will literally swallow you babe. The river walk is fun but from start to finish it'll take a very long time because some rivers are very long. you'll plants in some places and others trees and you'll mainly see lot's of boats. Theirs nothing like a river town.
