No it's not a pretty name. It looks and sounds funny. Further, if you have to spell and respell, then provide a pronunciation, it's a terrible handicap to inflict on a child.
A luminaria is a bag filled with sand that becomes an outdoor lantern when you put a candle in it, so don't go there as an alternative to Luminati.

It would be pretty if the child was clearly from a culture not North American. It's a bit too far out for someone born here.

Especially if the surname was really 'normal' like McGill or Andrews or Gordon.
